Report Power Outage

Tricounty Rural Electric's objective is to provide quality reliable service to our members.  Sometimes there are events that happen which are beyond our control such as lightning and wind storms, fallen trees on lines, ice on lines, equipment failures, and automobile accidents.

Cooperative Response Center (CRC), an outage call center assisting more than 200 utility co-ops throughout the United States, is available to take calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  To report a power outage to CRC, call 1-888-256-9858.

Should you lose power during normal business hours (Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm), call our office at 419-256-7900.  Calls made to this number after business hours are automatically transferred to CRC call center to assist.

If your power goes off, before you call:

Check your home's fuse box, breaker panel, or any outdoor disconnects to make sure the outage is not due to a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

Call your neighbors to see if their power is off.  This will help determine if the problem exists within your home or on our lines.

When calling an outage, please have this information ready:

         Name on account

         Account number

Phone number at the location of outage

         Service address

In case of extended outage, have the following on hand:

Flashlights, portable radio, batteries, candles, matches, extra fuel.

        Supply of wood for fireplaces.

Non-perishables, canned goods, peanut butter, powdered milk, bread, manual can opener.

Supply of water if you depend on a well.

Blankets, sleeping bags, warm clothing, coats.

Keep freezer and refrigerator doors closed to prevent food spoilage.  If door remains closed,

food will keep for longer periods of time.
