High School students have many opportunities available through the co-op's youth programs. Each year Tricounty awards $3,000 in scholarships to seniors and offers the opportunity for a local student to take an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C.
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Tricounty will sponsor one $1,000 scholarship, two $750, and one $500 scholarship for high school seniors this year. The winner of the $1,000 scholarship may have an opportunity to participate in the Ohio's Electric Cooperatives statewide scholarship competition held in Columbus, OH, where he or she will have a chance to receive an additional scholarship.
Applicants must be graduating seniors with basic credits for college or vocational/technical school with a career average GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale. All applications must be received by Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2022. Learn more and how to apply by visiting our Scholarship page.
YOUTH TOUR
Each year, Tricounty Rural Electric sponsors a high school sophomore or junior student to attend the Rural Electric Cooperatives’ all-expenses-paid Youth Tour trip to Washington, D.C. in June. The winner will accompany approximately 1,800 other students from across the country for a week in Washington.
Here, they visit many famous historical sites, plus meet with U.S. representatives and senators and forge lasting friendships.
This leadership trip gives students a firsthand look at our nation's rich history, as well as teaches them about the cooperative business model and community service.
